ETS was formed in 1973 and has an extensive and uniquely broad background in the environmental field. Today its focus is on training, troubleshooting, testing and testimony. The firm is well positioned in these fields having in the past been involved in the research, development, design, manufacture, installation, operation and testing of numerous pollution control systems

While ETS is probably best known for being the world’s leading baghouse consultant, it has extensive first hand experience with all major air pollution control equipment including wet and dry scrubbers, electrostatic precipitators, incinerators, absorbers and adsorbers.

In terms of industry application of control equipment, the firm has experience with mining, metals, boilers, glass, chemicals, woodworking, quarries, textiles and most other heavy industry. Example case studies can be found in this web site and many others are available upon request.

ETS’ fabric and bag testing lab was founded in the early 1970’s. Thousands of bags have been tested for the purposes of either troubleshooting, quality assurance, research and performance assessment and/or tracking. In the year 2000 ETS was qualified and to-date is the only laboratory approved for filtration product testing within EPA’s Environmental Technology Verification Program

The ETS Training institute was formed in the 1980’s. Particulate emission control training had been offered in the seventies and in the eighties the course offerings were expanded to include the full range of air pollution subjects including regulation, problem definition, control device design and selection, operation and maintenance and cost optimization. In the nineties courses were broadened further to include water and waste pollution control as well. Training has been provided at the ETS training center on a regular basis and in addition at various plant sites and other locations around the world, as detailed in the section on training. In the year 2000 ETS offered its first course on-line and is currently expanding the courses offered in this manner.
