Counting all the ETS-sponsored seminars to date, over 2000 students have attended from industry, government agencies, utilities, academia, and commercial concerns. Over the years, the staff of ETS have written and published a series of textbooks and self-instructional workbooks. In 1991 and 1996, ETS was selected to provide the Air Pollution Control Technologies Course to senior technical personnel from developing nations. This course was the first of its kind, and was sponsored by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Office of Energy and Infrastructure, and administered by the Institute of International Education (IIE). Countries represented included Jamaica, Nigeria, Philippines, Tanzania, Indonesia, Jordan, Taiwan, India, Egypt, Ecuador, Ghana, Colombia, Chile, and Bolivia. The success of this extensive training course has led to additional courses abroad in Saudi Arabia, Brazil and Kazakhstan. In 2001, 2002 and 2003 Academy for Educational Development (AED) selected ETS for training of groups from the Ukraine (PRTR), Russia (Public Participation), Kazakhstan (Environmental PR) and Armenia (National Park and Watershed Management).
